Stratos Global Greek Taverna
I’ve wanted to try Stratos Global Greek Taverna for over a year. They send me emails on a regular basis, tempting me with images of Greek food that would make anybody salivate.
In an email they sent on Monday, Stratos suggested I “make it a Greek Burger Day.” On Tuesday, I did just that. Adam (my Dallasing.com cohort) and I ventured 15 or so miles southwest to the Bachman Lake/Love Field area to finally experience the food, the patio, and the atmosphere.
We sat on the patio despite weather conditions that were less than ripe for alfresco dining. Adam ordered the Gyro Sandwich, and I went with the Max’s Greek Burger, which had been occupying my mind for 24 plus hours. Additionally, we ordered a Dolmathes appetizer (grape leaves stuffed with a mixture of rice and beef).
The Dolmathes arrived appropriately drenched in oil and topped with lemon butter sauce. Though I ate more of these tasty nuggets than originally planned, I was still determined to make a significant dent in my burger.
Max’s Greek Burger was everything I hoped it would be — a juicy, well-seasoned patty teamed with feta cheese, grilled red onions, lettuce, and tomato and served on a sesame seed bun. I polished it off with ease.
Adam shared a few bites of gyro meat, which was nicely nestled in a pita and liberally topped with tzatziki sauce and onions. The fries were yummy too. Our stomachs were temporarily upset for the workouts they received, but I wouldn’t and couldn’t do it any other way at a place like Stratos.
Stratos Global Greek Taverna’s menu has all the staples you’d expect from a Greek restaurant, including saganaki, souvlaki, pastitsio, moussaka, spanakopita, and baklava. Other Mediterranean favorites like fettucine and spaghetti with meat sauce are also available. And judging by its impressive drink specials and multiple patios, Stratos is probably a fun choice for happy hour.
Stratos is located at 2907 W. Northwest Hwy. Dallas, TX 75220. Visit their website at ClubStratos.com for more information.
