Much to the appeal of Dallas clothing aficionados, the internationally-known clothing chain H&M will be opening its doors August 18 at NorthPark Center.

Sweden-based H&M announced its plans to expand its market to Texas late last year, but only recently released a specific grand opening date. The NorthPark store, which is likely to be followed by an opening at The Shops at Willow Bend, will add to H&M’s current base of over 2,300 locations worldwide. Prior to Texas’s inaugural H&M, the nearest location was over 600 miles away in St. Louis.

The August 18 grand opening will take place at noon with the first 500 visitors receiving “passes” valued up to $500.

H&M’s arrival follows a pattern of big-name chains setting up shop this year for the first time in Texas, more notably Dallas. H&M was preceded by In-N-Out Burger in May and will be followed by Trader Joe’s later this year.
